Hello, My name is Jesse Guglielmana. I enjoy surfing, skateboarding, painting, and shaping surfboards, and I have a screen printing business in Costa Mesa, California.

Nickname: Jessica

Based now: Huntington Beach, California

Stance: Regular

Sponsors: Raen

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Orange County, CA. When I was about 10 years old, my family moved to the North Shore of Kauai. I lived there till I was about 20 then moved back in and around Orange County area. I’m living in Huntington Beach currently.

What do you like about where you live now?

I enjoy the weather and how close the ocean is to my house. Most importantly the dog beach is really close and my dog and I go there a lot.

When and how did you start surfing?

I started surfing at about 10 years old when my family moved to Kauai. Before that, all I did was skateboard which there wasn’t much of going on so I gravitated toward surfing.

Where is your go-to surf spot?

I don’t know really. It changes all the time. I’ve been surfing Sano lately.

Please tell us about the surfboard you usually ride. Brand, shaper, dimensions, fin setup, etc.

I shape my boards. It depends on what the waves are like. I’ve been riding a 5’6" fish that I made a few years back. It’s got little grooves off the tail near the rails that give you a little more grip through turns.

Where are your favorite surf spots that you've been to?

I like Mexico a lot. Anywhere with the right points :)

Where are the surf spots you want to visit in the future that you've never been to?

I’ve always wanted to surf J-bay.

Which do you like more, Air or Tube?

Tube

Which do you like more, Noseride or Maneuver?

Apples vs Oranges

Which one video would you highlight in this playlist and why?

"Dear Stan, I love you", my friend Jon and I worked on this video together a few years ago and we had a lot of fun making it. It’s fun to work on video stuff when there is nothing being promoted except for a car from 1988 that isn’t for sale.

Who are the surfers that inspire you?

Dane Reynolds was a huge inspiration when I was a kid. He did what he wanted and carved out a path for himself doing his own thing. Also, Tom Curren is the greatest surfer of all time.

What are the surf films/videos that inspire you?

All the Marine Layer Productions videos are still my favorites. I always admired how raw and unfinished they were. Dane's creativity really showed in them in a unique and honest way.

What are the films/movies that inspire you? (other than surf films)

All the Polar Skate Co. videos. I really admire Pontus Alv and his creative work ethic. He has his hand in every part of the process and it really shows in the end result. & "Forrest Gump".

Other than surfing, what are you passionate about?

Painting is very special to me. The process is very therapeutic and never gets old. I love skateboarding. I love spending time with my girlfriend and my dog. They mean the world to me.

Who are your favorite bands and musicians?

Elliott Smith
