When and how did you start surfing?

Started surfing when I was 18 years old, my roommates at the time all surfed and I played soccer. My first board was a potato chip that looked like it had seen 50 years of sun. But the first time I stood up I was addicted.

Who are the surfers that inspire you?

Too many to list...a lot of surfers inspire me in different ways. Torren Martyn inspires me to travel outside of my comfort zone, Noah Wegrich inspires me to be a kind human, Tanner Gudauskas inspires me to think outside the box, Nat Young inspires me to be humble, Nate Tyler inspires me to want to expand my horizons beyond filmmaking.

Where are your favorite surf spots that you've been to?

South Africa and South America have been my favorite.

Where are the surf spots you want to visit in the future that you've never been to?

Micronesia

Which type of surfboards and fin setups are you into?

All of them.

Which one video would you highlight in this playlist and why?

I don't have a favorite, I think every one of them is unique in its own way.

What cameras and lenses do you use?

RED Gemini and Leica R glass

What editing tool do you use?

Premiere Pro

What's your favorite focal length?

Wide

When and how did you start filming?

I started filming mostly skating and surfing just after high school. Growing up my mom was a producer and my dad a documentary editor. I would go to my dad's office after school and watch him edit in this huge editing bay in San Francisco. I didn't know it at the time but I think watching him inspired me to want to pick up a camera and start shooting.

Who are the creators that inspire you?

So many, Joe G, Kyle Buthman, Matt Kleiner, Riley Blakeway, Ben Gulliver, Spencer Frost, Breton Carasso, and many more.

What are the surf films/videos that inspire you?

Ones that tell a story through beautiful and unique imagery, always been a massive fan of Joe G’s work.

Other than surf films?

Wes Anderson films because of his use of framing shots.

Who are your favorite bands and musicians?

Don't have favorite bands or musicians, I tend to go in phases with different types of music. Music is everything for a surf film, so I am constantly on the lookout.
