This Is Corey Colapinto
Surfer Corey Colapinto Playlist & Interview Last Updated: May 20 2022
Hi! My name is Corey Colapinto. I love Jesus, my wife, friends, family, surfing, and shaping. I like to make mid-length twin fins, and I have been enjoying going super thin with them! I originally only rode shortboards, then got into longboards, and now I like to try and blend the two together with 7-8 surfboards.
Based now: Dana Point, California
Sponsors: Toes on the Nose clothing, Captain Fin Co, Brawner Boards hooks it up with rad glassing and lets me use his glass shop which feels like a sponsor :) and NobodySurf!!
What do you like about where you live now?
I have great friends, waves, opportunity to make boards for people.
When and how did you start surfing?
My dad got me into it, he can rip on anything!
Where is your go-to surf spot?
Please tell us about the surfboard you usually ride. Brand, shaper, dimensions, fin setup, etc.
I like to ride my thin twins. My go-to is 7’ x 21” x 1.8".
Where are your favorite surf spots that you've been to?
La Saladita in Mexico is great!
Where are the surf spots you want to visit in the future that you've never been to?
I’d love to go to Peru to explore some left-hand point breaks!
Which do you like more, Air or Tube?
Tube! Nothing like being in the eye of the dragon.
Which do you like more, Noseride or Maneuver?
I like a good mix! Probably a carve wins though.
Who are the surfers that inspire you?
What are the surf films/videos that inspire you?
What are the films/movies that inspire you? (other than surf films)
Avatar the Last Airbender
Other than surfing, what are you passionate about?
Jesus is my #1. When he died on the cross it was to show the severity of God's justice towards our sins, and to pay the penalty so wouldn't have to. Trust in Him and you will be saved!
Who are your favorite bands and musicians?
The worship band at my church :)
